Slander cannot destroy the honest - when the flood recedes the rock is there. Chinese proverb

What is Honesty?

Definition:

The quality or condition of being truthful and trustworthy, showing integrity. (www.dictionary.com)

Cultural Perspective:
Plagiarism is viewed negatively in the United States, however in other cultures plagiarism is viewed differently. In some cultures, teachers are highly respected academically and their words are considered the final authority. Instruction is done through rigorous learning and memorization. It is considered respectful to use what experts have written rather than use your own thoughts, which are less informed. (Watters, N. (2003). The virtues gazette: Bringing virtues to life.
